| Symposium 24: Conflict Resolution in Insect Societies | |||
| Insect societes are subject to a wide range of potential reproductive conflicts. These conflicts occur over many aspects of reproduction, and divide the individuals within a society in a great variety of different ways. Despite the presence of these potential conflicts, insect societies normally operate in a harmonious manner suggesting that most conflicts have been resolved. This symposium will focus on the mechanisms that can cause effective conflict resolutions. Conflict resolution in other systems, including microbes and interspecific mutualisms will also briefly be discussed. | |||
